PEM Friends was set up in 2000 by the indomitable Carolyn Blain and Isobel took over the reins in 2013. In the years since, PEM Friends has grown to a membership of over 800 patients and their loved ones.
We would like to thank Isobel for her endeavours on behalf of people with autoimmune blistering diseases.
Her resilience, tenacity and care for those diagnosed with the conditions has helped the organisation achieve its many successes culminating in us becoming a charity in February of this year.
PEM Friends becomes a charity
PEM Friends will be a different organisation but we will continue to provide support to those who are affected by pemphigus or pemphigoid. PEM Council are a strong team with a clear mission to facilitate support to all our PEM Friends and to grow the awareness of these awful conditions so that no-one needs feel alone and that diagnosis and early treatment is faster and easier.
